1 Samuel 15:22
I had a revelation, and I believe there is a message in it for the Body of Christ, especially for wives, husbands, and all believers.
In the revelation, I saw a couple. The husband was a pastor, and he was standing together with his wife. They met a young man whom the wife already knew and had some level of familiarity with, but the pastor was unaware of any connection between them.
As a pastor, he welcomed the young man warmly, and they began chatting together. While they were talking, a group of young men and women arrived. They were engaged in evangelism and sharing the Gospel. They came to where the pastor, his wife, and the young man were sitting.
The evangelism team shared the Gospel with them. The pastor listened attentively, welcomed them, and appreciated their efforts in the work of God.
Suddenly, the pastor realized that he could no longer see his wife. At the same time, the young man was nowhere to be found. A thought entered his heart, and he began to wonder if his wife had followed the young man somewhere else. He searched many places but could not find her.
Later, he met one of the ladies from the evangelism team and asked her, "Please, have you seen my wife?"
The lady replied, "Yes, she was with us, but she left not long after we left your side."
After some time, the pastor finally found his wife among some of the ladies from the evangelism team.
The pastor then said to his wife, "Even if you wanted to follow them, shouldn't you have taken permission from me before leaving? Shouldn't you have informed me before going anywhere?"
But the wife could not answer him.
Then, in the revelation, the pastor began beating his wife. The scene was very painful to watch, and immediately I woke up.
As I meditated on this revelation, I understood that there is an important lesson for wives, husbands, and indeed all children of God.
Doing something that appears good does not automatically mean it is approved by God. A good deed done outside God's will is still disobedience. God is not only concerned with what we do; He is also concerned with whether He instructed us to do it.
The wife was not found in a nightclub or in a place of sin. She was found among people doing evangelism; a good and godly work. Yet the issue was not the activity itself. The issue was that she acted without proper order, communication, and permission.
Many believers today make the mistake of thinking that because an action looks good, it must be right. But God's kingdom operates on obedience, not merely on good intentions.
Many have lost their way because they followed what seemed right instead of what God commanded. Many have suffered because they moved when God did not send them. Some have spoken when God told them to be silent. Others remained silent when God commanded them to speak.
This lack of obedience and order has also destroyed many marriages. Many homes have experienced unnecessary pain, misunderstanding, suspicion, and conflict because one spouse acted without communication, accountability, or regard for God's order.
What begins as a good intention can become a source of sorrow when it is done outside the will of God. Some have damaged their marriages while sincerely believing they were doing the right thing. Others have neglected their responsibilities at home while pursuing what appeared to be a noble cause. Yet God is not only interested in the work we do; He is interested in whether we are walking according to His instructions.
God is a God of order. When order is ignored, confusion enters. When communication is neglected, suspicion grows. When obedience is replaced with self-will, relationships suffer.
You can be doing something that appears right in the eyes of men and still be outside the will of God.
You can even be punished for doing a good thing if it was done in disobedience to God's instruction.
So therefore:
• Stay in the Lord.
• Remain in His will.
• Follow His instructions.
• Act when He asks you to act.
• Do not move simply because others are moving.
• Do not speak simply because others are speaking.
• Do not go simply because others are going.
• Seek God's direction in all things.
• Not every good work is God's assignment for you.
• Not every opportunity is God's calling for you.
• Not every battle is yours to fight.
• Not every invitation is yours to accept.
• Many have lost their lives in the name of "I am doing what is right" when God never sent them. Many have entered places God never instructed them to enter. Many have spoken messages God never gave them. Many have taken actions that seemed righteous but were outside God's timing and purpose.
Stay in the Lord. Act when He asks you to act. Do not act when He has not spoken. Not every good work is approved by God simply because it appears good. Obedience remains the key.
• Obedience protects.
• Obedience preserves.
• Obedience brings peace.
• Obedience sustains marriages, families, ministries, and destinies.
• Obedience is better than sacrifice.
May the Lord grant us the grace to hear His voice clearly, to follow His instructions faithfully, and to remain within the boundaries of His perfect will.
Remember: To obey is better than sacrifice. – 1 Samuel 15:22
